Basic Pistol Shooting Phase II

Requirement: Completing an online course in NRA Basic Pistol Shooting at https://onlinetraining.nra.org/

Course Training and Fundamental:

Essential gun safety rules
Different types of pistols and which one is best for you
The basics of ammunition
The fundamentals of pistol shooting

Different shooting positions
The most common shooting errors
Proper gun cleaning and maintenance
How to maintain your skills

Must bring:

A handgun (Semi Auto Only)

150-200 rounds of ammunitions

Holster with belt and mag pouch

Course Fee: $100 + $20 range fee

 

Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course

Requirement: Completing an online course in NRA Basic Pistol Shooting at https://onlinetraining.nra.org/

Course Training and Fundamental:

Introduction to the NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Development Course
The Role of the NRA Range Safety Officer and Range Standard Operating Procedures
Range Inspection and Range Rules
Range Safety Briefing

Emergency Procedures
Firearm Stoppages and Malfunctions
Test and Review

9 hours course

Must bring:

A handgun (Semi Auto Only)

200 rounds of ammunitions

Holster with belt and mag pouch

Course Fee: $200 + $20 range fee

 

Personal Protection Inside the home

Requirement: Completing an NRA Basic Pistol Course or an Introduction to Basic Pistol course

Course Training and Fundamental:

This NRA course will teach you the basic Knowledge,Skills,and Attitude to safely handle you firearm for the protection of yourself and your family while in your home.

8 hours course

Must bring:

A handgun (Semi Auto Only)

300 rounds of ammunitions

Holster with belt and mag pouch

Course Fee: $250 + $20 range fee

 

Personal Protection Outside the home

Requirement: Completing an NRA Basic Pistol Course or an Introduction to Basic Pistol course, completing NRA Personal Protection Inside the home course

Course Training and Fundamental:​

This NRA course will teach you the basic Knowledge,Skills,and Attitude to safely handle you firearm for the protection of yourself and your family while outside. You will be trained on drawing from holster including from concealment.

14 hours course (1st day- 8 hours & 2nd day- 6 hours)

Must bring:

A handgun (Semi Auto Only)

300 rounds of ammunitions

Holster with belt and mag pouch

Course Fee: $325 + $20 range fee

NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course - Distance Learning

Requirement: Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. This course is at least 14 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.

8 hours course

Must bring:

Rifle (Semi or Bolt action)

100 rounds of ammunitions

Course Fee: $150 + $20 range fee

NRA Defensive Pistol Course

Requirement: The NRA Defensive Pistol course will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. The goal of the course will be to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly and with confidence. As a result of participating in this course, the student will be able to explain and demonstrate the following: how to apply the NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm; basic principles of concealment; the difference between cover and concealment; drawing from the holster; levels of mental awareness; developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal protection; clearing common stoppages; use of pocket pistols; and more. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and the NRA Defensive Pistol certificate.

5 hours course

Must bring:

A handgun (Semi Auto Only)

200 rounds of ammunitions

Holster with belt and mag pouch
